RE: 2009 LT-R pics!!! just emailed to the shop- these are NOT BS

stygz this is the LTR450 not the Z400 I know this is not the 400 but if you read what blasterfan typed it says LTZ400 and LTR pics. These could be the 2009 LTR pics. LTZ pics have been released andy they are white and yellow as usual.

RE: 2009 LTZ 400 updates....EFI!

I completely disagree with you Rincon. I think EFI is far and away a good investment for the Entry/Mid Level Sport Machine, that will be asked to do anything and everything, anywhere! If there are no major flaws in the EFI system, then I would say that the 400EX is not even in the same class as the Z400. And please dont try and charm me about the simplicity of the 400EX, they are great machines and I love mine, but times they are a changin' and Honda needs to catch up or get left behind. Well put about the 400 ex

Those cannot be the colors for the 2009 LTZ400 for the U.S. as I have the the brochure at work for the Z and they are offering white and yellow. Unless one of those will be a late release limited edition.

RE: 2009 LTZ 400 updates....EFI!

My info is not from the internet but from suzuki. If i get a chance i will scan the info from the brochure. This is from the early release directly from Suzuki.

2009 LTZ 400 updates....EFI!

The dealer that I work at just got the info on the early release suzukis. They did some big updates to the LTZ. First it gets body work just like the LTR450! second change is EFI! They also changed the cam for more low and mid range power and then they shortened the exhaust to keep the high range. I also noticed the weight is now measured ready to ride (oil, coolant, brake fluid, and gas)

RE: Seeking 450 Advice

The polaris 450 has a really strong motor and very agile handling....I would atleast take it for a test ride. Also concider the LTR. The LTR is a very strong machine for $40 on a CHMB you will have your hands full!

RE: Predator

The 2005 and newer Predators have reverse. Like Oldbutslow said in stock form their low end is not the greatest but the middle and top end hit really hard. If you ditch the pathetic stock air box for a clamp on it really wakes up the bottom end. As far as stock parts on the Predator nothing in it's price range comes with such high quality parts stock. The Predator has Podium suspension and the TLE and LE come with Podium XL ressi front suspension. They all come with steel braided brake lines, Douglas rims, lifetime guaranteed chromally rear axle and Maxxis tires stock. The '07 model did away with the Pro steering on the front and a couple of other changes that lightened it's overall weight and really lightened the front end. The Fuji engine has proven itself to be very reliable but like others said the tranny can get a little notchy towards the end of an oil change. A high quality synthetic oil helps this out. I have found that Bel Ray thumper oil smooths out the tranny, Although i am about to give the new PS4+ a try. The motors have been really reliable. And yes the airbox sucks!

RE: Any owners of the 08 Honda 400ex?

I have owned a KFX400 and have rode with many others riding a 400EX. The EX is a dated machine compared to a Z. As for reliability They are similar. I cannot imagine someone that were to ride the two machines back to back would choose an EX over a Z. The EX looks alot better after a new dress for 2008. The EX opened the door to many of the sport quads we have today but it is time for honda to kill the EX or make a real update like liquid cooling and better shocks.

RE: I Want to Buy a 450, any advice?

I am not a honda guy but a 450r with the HRC kit makes a great package! you will not be disappionted coming off a 400ex. It will be night and day.

RE: Polaris Cyclone?

If you cant beat that with your 450 you should find a new hobby

RE: Polaris Cyclone?

I got ran over by one once:) They are not that fast. A kid down the street had one back around 1993. My CR80 smoked it on top end and acceleration. They are a piece of crap.

RE: outlaw 500 mods

cool, so can you tell me a few things that I have been trying to find out seeing as your set up is pretty much the same? #1. after the air and exhaust mods what size did you rejet to? #2. how are the holeshots in mud&snow? Im currently running ITP mud lites 20x11x9 in the rear and in the summer I was pleased but now with a snow mix and the mods my rear has to much spin. my rear was all over the place as soon as I gas it, Im not sure if its the increase in trq from the mods or the tires. The dial-a-jet Im going to keep because I live in Swansea MA. on the ocean(sea level) and 3hrs. away is the moutians in NH. with ski resorts and snowmobile&quad trails at very high elev. however I want to rejet and take the responsibility away from the dail-a-jet and just use it for elevation tuning. another question is how do you think your set up is compared to when it was stock? is it a noticable difference? my E2's are not here yet(any day now--snail mail..)but everything else is in place. as far as 525 and top end im not worried because we ride rough trails, some pits & firelanes and you will never run wide open. I believe i am went up one size for the pilot jet and about a 165 main.....sorry it has been awhile. Compared to stock the machine would rev off the limiter really fast. Alot better acceleration. I would stay way from the rev box because it advances your timing too much and causes hard starting and kick backs that break starter drives. Your mud lites will suit you well for those conditions due to the large space for cleaning out. Maybe switch to holeshot HD or XCR for dry conditions.

RE: outlaw 500 mods

I have pretty much the same set up you discribe except I have stage 1 cams and i have a lighter tire (holeshot XCR) alot less rotating mass. First thing i would ditch that dial a jet thing unless you are taking it to multiple elevation places frequently. With stock gearing i dont think i will have the same top speed as a 525.

RE: polaris outlaw 500 oil coming out crank case vent

Did you just drain the oil tank? If so you only need 2 qts. If you drained the allen bolt on the bottom of the engine you will get about .25 qt out of there also. Nothing to worry about...you just have too much oil in the machine. I did the same thing the first time i changed oil. It cost me a set of rear brake pads. The oil drained in the air box and then down the frame and on the brake pads. leave the bolt on the filter housing alone. suck some oil out of the oil tank until you have the proper level
